Stephan Millett is the Director of the Centre for Applied Ethics and Philosophy at Curtin University of Technology.

He is a former newspaper editor, journalism academic and school teacher. He was awarded his PhD in Philosophy from Murdoch University in 1996.

For the past seven years Stephan has been pioneering the introduction of philosophy and ethics to WA schools. As part of this work he is writing a new post-compulsory high school course in Philosophy and Ethics for the Curriculum Council and is contracted to write textbooks for this course. In addition, he conducts many professional development workshops for teachers, facilitates ethics workshops for other professionals and is recognised as an innovative and committed teacher. His ethics specialisms are environmental ethics, media ethics and ethics in education. He has conducted consultancies in ethics for government departments and schools and is nationally-recognised for his work on philosophy in schools and the teaching of ethics.
